2019 International Conference Bursaries Awarded

STI Conference Delegates

The Tall Ships Australia and New Zealand Committee is pleased to announce the recipients of bursaries to attend the 2019 International Sail Training and Tall Ships Conference in Antwerp, Belgium, from 5-7 December 2019.

  • Greg Bray – Young Endeavour Youth Scheme (STS Young Endeavour)
  • David English – Sydney Heritage Fleet (James Craig)
  • Jeremy Portzer – Sydney Heritage Fleet (James Craig)
  • Jon Simpson – Tall Ships Australia and New Zealand
  • Michael Womack – Enterprize Ship Trust (Enterprize)
  • Phil Hodson – Sail Training Association of Queensland (South Passage)

The International Sail Training and Tall Ships Conference provides tailored programmes to meet the needs and interests of key delegate groups. It is the perfect opportunity for the Sail Training community to gather, network, share practical advice, offer each other support and talk to experts.

Each year Tall Ships Australia and New Zealand offers six bursaries, funded by Sail Training International, to individual members (or representatives of Operator members) who are likely to make a significant contribution within the sail training industry in Australia and New Zealand. These bursaries offset costs of travel to attend the conference, which is held annually in Europe.

The 2019 recipients intend to explore other sail training programs, discuss grant proposals and fundraising, engage volunteer coordinators, gain further insight into the philosophy behind sail training, and explore professional development opportunities.

Congratulations to these recipients, who were selected from a strong field of nominees. Thank you to all you applied for the 2019 bursary.
