Tall Ships Australia and New Zealand, formerly the Australian Sail Training Association, is a voluntary organisation which aims to foster opportunities for young Australians and New Zealanders to discover their inner strengths and potential through a structured experiential learning program during an adventure at sea in a tall ship.

Tall Ships Australia and New Zealand aspires to:

• promote, assist and support Australian and New Zealand Operators in their endeavours;

• be recognised in Australia and New Zealand as the organisation providing knowledge in the field of Youth Development under sail, Sail Training and Sail Training events;

• be the organisation which leads and contributes, nationally, to the development and promotion of youth development and sail training for young people in Australia and New Zealand, regardless of nationality, culture, religion, gender or social background;

• be the organisation that sets the standards in organising events and races for tall ships in Australia and New Zealand;

• promote the preservation and display of Maritime Heritage Sailing Vessels.
