Support Regional Australia: Paynesville Classic Boat Rally 2020

This summer has been extremely trying for all in Australia. The bush fires have directly impacted many in our community, and our thoughts are with those that have had their lives changed by recent events.

Sydney Harbour Tall Ships will go ahead with a voyage sailing to the Paynesville Classic Boat Rally. This township has been significantly impacted by the fires, but have made the decision to proceed with this fantastic event.

Although voyage funding has fallen through, Sydney Harbour Tall Ships will continue to support the event as their feature vessel, and ask the tall ship community to get behind them in that endeavour. Join a voyage or a day sail from this special Rally, or plan your own trip to Gippsland to support the local community.

Coral Trekker – Offshore Cruises

Coral Trekker’s first voyage will be seven days from Sydney to Victoria to join the Paynesville Classic Boat Rally. In Paynesville, we will be offering Bed and Breakfast as well as Day Sails.

From Paynesville, we’ll sail to Geelong on a four day cruise to partake in Geelong’s Wooden Boat Festival. Day Sails will also be available there as well as B&B.

A short but exclusive two day cruise to Williamstown from Geelong would be a great introduction for those new to tall ship sailing. Coral Trekker will arrive in time to partake in the Williamstown Festival, with more opportunities for day sailing and Bed and Breakfast.

For those with more time and ready for a real adventure, we sail on a 12 day return trip to Sydney from the Williamstown festival.

Paynesville Classic Boat Rally 2020

A three day celebration of classic boats, maritime culture and cruising on the Gippsland Lakes.

In its 3rd event in five years, Paynesville Classic Boat Rally promises to deliver a spectacular collection of over 300 classic boats on water, ranging from Tall Ships, to sailing vessels, classic motor boats, skiffs, fishing boats, small crafts and more.

If it’s older than 25 years, or of historical value, you just might see it at the rally!

On land or on water, there’s so many opportunities to see these magnificent boats up close and in action across the weekend.

Our Saturday Grand Parade features all boats available on water as they sail past the crowds and through the straight in open waters. Feature events such as motor boat runabout, fishing boat challenge, quick and dirty boat building, are happening all weekend as well as cruises on the tall ship Coral Trekker, the Lady Jane and more.

Take your own boat out at your leisure for a trip on the Gippsland Lakes, and return to share stories with other boat lovers. It really is an event for everyone.

On land our trailered boats make a fantastic display of classic wooden, fiberglass and rowing boats. Rooftop dinghies will line the foreshore and music, entertainments and maritime stall holders will await your discovery.
