Sail the Australian Wooden Boat Festival

The 2019 Australian Wooden Boat Festival will be held across Hobart’s vibrant and bustling waterfront from 8-11 February 2019.

An exciting celebration of our nation’s rich maritime culture, the four-day festival brings together the largest and most beautiful collection of wooden boats in the southern hemisphere. From its humble beginnings in 1994, it has grown to become the most significant event of its kind in Australia.

Along with the exhibition of these beautiful boats, the festival delivers a lively combination of incredible local food, live entertainment, music, demonstrations and displays – a free summer celebration by the sea!

And how better to experience such a festival than by arriving or departing by sea! In 2019 several Tall Ships are offering voyages from or returning to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Berthing alongside the waterfront, these tall ships provide a unique platform from which to experience one of the world’s most anticipated maritime events.
