Annual General Meeting

The Tall Ships Australia and New Zealand Annual General Meeting is held in September each year, usually in Sydney, and provides an opportunity for the Committee to address members directly regarding activities and operations, and for members to contribute to planning for the forward year. All members are encouraged to attend.

Elections are also held for Committee positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Member/s, as well as for a Youth Representative. Nominations will be called for in the weeks preceding an election.

Operators Conference

Tall Ships Australia and New Zealand Operators Conferences are held twice each year, usually in March/April and September/October. The March/April Operators Conference is hosted by member Operators in ports around Australia and New Zealand.  The September/October conference is usually held in Sydney, in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting.

The Operators Conference features seminars and workshops, over one-two days, and provides an opportunity for Operators to network, share practical advice, offer each other support and talk to experts. Nominations for topics of interest and speakers are welcome and can be forwarded to mail@tallships.org.au.

International Conferences

The Sail Training International and Tall Ships Conference is an annual conference featuring seminars and workshops. It provides tailored programs to meet the needs and interests of key delegate groups and is the perfect opportunity for the Sail Training community around the world to gather, network, share practical advice, offer each other support and talk to experts.

The Sail Training International Annual Conference is a “must attend” event, open to everyone involved in Sail Training for young people.

  • Vessel operators
  • Sail Training programme providers
  • Ports already contracted to host a Sail Training International event, including The Tall Ships Races
  • Representatives of Endorsed Events
  • Anyone with an interest in Sail Training and Tall Ships races and regattas.

Each year, six individual bursaries, funded by Sail Training International, are offered to offset costs for successful applicants to travel from either Australia or New Zealand to Europe to attend the Conference. The 2019 International Sail Training and Tall Ships Conference took place in Seville, Spain.
